Homeless Without Her
Before I ever saw her face or knew her pretty name
I’d found love to be a thief, a cruel and heartless game
So I swore it off and just gave up
For years I was alone
But she caught my eye with a smile and had me at “hello”
And she took all my love
And gave it a home
Then turned me out again
Now I’m homeless
Homeless
Homeless without her
Love is such a funny thing when it comes to an end
Together only yesterday and now were less than friends
And I begged her to tell me what was wrong
But she just turned away
And something broke deep inside as I stood there in the rain
Because she took all my love
And gave it a home
Then turned me out again
And I’m homeless
Homeless
Homeless without her
And a whole year later
I haven’t moved on
And I’m worse off than when she found me
I’m creeping her place
Whenever I can
In the shadows across the street
Because she took all my love
And gave it a home
Then turned me out again
To driftwood the shameful corners
With thoughts I can’t push away
That have grown on all she denied me
Then sold me feel so afraid
… so afraid
That I’m homeless
Homeless
Homeless
Homeless
Homeless
Homeless
Homeless
Homeless
Homeless without her
